Liebe Freunde und Freundinnen,
dear friends
Heute, am 14.August sind wir fuer einen Tag in Bosanska Samac (Flusskilometer 307, gezaehlt wird rueckwaerts bis nach Belgrad) und werden morgen nach Domaljevac weiterfahren.Zur Zeit sind wir sieben Leute auf dem Floss. Franziska, Heike, Hilmar, Isabel, Nora, Selma und Stephan. Esben aus Kopenhagen ist vor ein paar Tagen abgereist und Veco aus Zagreb konnte wegen buerokratischen Schwierigkeiten leider nicht zu uns stossen.

Am 19.August, also kurz vor Brcko, wird Stephan unser Floss verlassen und Heike wird am 25.August abreisen, nachdem wir die Grenze zu Serbien passiert haben. Jadranko aus Banja Luka/Belgrad wird in Brcko zu uns kommen.
Es ist noch Platz, also besucht uns! Besonders gesucht sind Personen mit Sportbootfuehrerschein, da dieser mit Heike von Bord gehen wird.
Am 05.September findet unsere Abschlusspartz in Belgrad statt, ihr seit sehr herzlich eingeladen zu kommen und/oder mitzuorganisieren, aufzutreten, mit uns zu feiern. today, 14th of august, we make a one day research and internet stop in Bosanski Samac. Still 307 kilometers left to the mouth of the Danube in Belgrade.
Tomorrow our raft will float forward to Domaljevac. The stream has approximately 2km per hour, not 5 as we thought in the beginning. Sometimes the headwind is stronger than us. Our engine is eating gasoline like a horse. We figured out more silent and romantic ways to move on water. Sometimes by paddle; sometimes we swim and tear the Splav - wich seems to be the most effectiv and enjoyable way. Our footbridge becomes the diving-board, when the water is deep with a lemmongreen sparkling Afterwards we dry on sun deck. So we make a distance of 10 to 20 kilometers a day. We meet friendly and helpful locals in the villages close to the river. They supply us with homegrown tomatoes, meat, fish and self-made Slivovice.
Lately we have built a bookcase, a periscope and a so called tree herbarium additionally to the embankment herbarium, a waterfridge plus some new figure head - gimmick for our home and research base to become more and more cosy. All around we collected a lot of Pictures and Interviews, mostly with very warm and and chatty people.
Presently our Crew consists of seven members. Franziska, Heike, Hilmar, Isabel, Nora, Selma and Stephan. Esben from Kopenhag left us some days ago and unfortunatly Veco from Zagreb couldn t get through to us because of bureaucratic difficulties served by borderpolice.
Jadranko from Banja Luka / Belgrade will join us in Brcko. We re really happy about !"Videmo se Jadranko!" Two people more will leave the splav in middle of August. Stephan and Heike have to go to Germany to follow the commitments of life as usual. Heike will take her boat driver permit with her; it would be GREAT and HELPFUL if you could bring your boat driver permit!
On 5th september will be the arrival party in Belgrade. You are cordially invited to come over, to help with preparation stuff, to play, be on stage, be with us!!!!!
